Introduction to the job

We are hiring a new Head of Annual & ESG Reporting to lead our global Annual & ESG reporting team. In this key leadership role, you will ensure excellence in financial and ESG compliance reporting, shape our ESG data governance, and drive continuous innovation in integrated annual reporting.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of ASML’s corporate reporting, based at our headquarters in Veldhoven. You will report directly to the Corporate Chief Accountant and be part of the leadership team alongside Risk & Internal Control, Business Assurance, Security, and Accounting.

Role and responsibilities

Your role will encompass ensuring top-tier financial and ESG compliance reporting, shaping ESG data governance, and establishing an ESG risk & control framework.   • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Annual & ESG Reporting team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Ensure the availability of reporting expertise, empower team members, and enable cross-sector career growth and development paths.
  • Annual & ESG Reporting: Oversee the preparation and publication of ASML's Integrated Annual Reports, ensuring compliance with global standards (US GAAP, IFRS, CSRD). This includes reviewing reporting deliverables, coordinating and monitoring the Annual Reporting processes companywide, and collaborating intensively with subject matter experts and various departments.
  • ESG Risk & Control Framework: Design, implement, and monitor ESG risks & internal controls to ensure robust ESG qualitative and quantitative reporting.
  • ESG Data Excellence & Governance: Oversee ESG data collection, validation, and governance to enhance accurate ESG data reporting and support ESG decision-making.
  • Strategic Annual Reporting Leadership: Coordinate company-wide reporting processes, driving efficiency, innovation, and impactful storytelling.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strategic partnerships with senior internal and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, regulators, peers) to ensure smooth and compliant reporting processes.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of emerging reporting trends, standards, and regulations to maintain the highest standards in Integrated Annual reporting.

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in finance with completed RA (or equivalent).
  • 18+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Annual and ESG reporting, preferably within a multinational organization and/or accounting firm experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Sustainability Reporting standards (CSRD / ISSB / SEC).
  • Demonstrated project management experience with cross-department complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders across functions in a complex international organization to drive ownership and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of senior professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Other Information:

In this role, you’ll provide leadership to a team of 3 senior managers. In total, you’ll lead an organization of 10 professionals.

The ASML Finance department operates in a dynamic environment where learning, commitment, business partnering, flexibility and continuous improvement are top of mind. The Finance department is responsible for driving cost-effective transactional, fiscal and financial processes on a global scale, supporting business decisions, financial planning, action management, risk mitigation and maintaining appropriate corporate governance practices.
