AkzoNobel’s Automotive & Specialty Coatings (ASC) business unit (BU) provides leading coatings solutions and services to customers around the world. Our business spans multiple market segments, including Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, and Vehicle Refinishes.

Effective marketing is central to the success of the ASC BU. As such, the BU’s Marketing & Pricing Excellence (M&PE) team provides high level input into the marketing strategy, processes and systems. Within this context, your mission in this global role is to manage various business improvement and pricing acceleration projects for the Aerospace market segment, a high profile and important part of our BU. In particular, you will focus on Product portfolio complexity reduction, pricing architecture, channel-, service-, and resource optimization to help streamline the business and further strengthen its position for profitable growth.

Marketing and Pricing Excellent Analyst

The role and its responsibilities

This role is based at our large site at Sassenheim, the Netherlands, and is one of a team of four M&PE Analysts, each responsible for their own BU segment. You will be part of a diverse global team of 16 people with 9 different nationalities. Because this is a global role, it is essential that you are open to different cultures, have strong communication skills, and always seek to build relationships and connect people.

Working closely with the Marketing & Pricing Excellence Manager, you will gather and interpret data, co-create and validate processes, build tools for analysis, translate outcomes into comprehensive and actionable insights, and lead workshops to define and drive implementation actions. This includes performing the following tasks and activities:

  • Detailed analysis on market pricing, competitor insights, and comparison by segment/region/country;
  • Lead, run and support Pricing Win Room activities across the BU segments and regions;
  • Support Segment-, Product-, and Key Account Managers with action plans and monitor margin improvement implementation in line with strategy and actions;
  • Monitor and coordinate progress on action plans for margin improvement and price increases with Sales and the Business Consultants in the segments and regions;
  • Support deal preparation by providing feedback on price positioning and final price proposals;
  • Act as a specialist in the execution of margin tools (e.g. competitor comparison, CEPE, price positioning tool, and Tools within SAP Business Warehouse, etc.).

Candidate profile
To apply for this position, you must possess all the following attributes:

  • Graduate in Finance, Marketing or Economics;
  • 5-10 years of working experience in a financial or commercial environment;
  • Familiar with MS Office, including expertise in Excel, CRM systems and ERP/Business Intelligence systems;
  • Experience of working with and leading multi-disciplinary programs and teams;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills including a high standard of written and spoken English.
